Curry Leaves Powder
Ingredients:

Picked curry leaves 1 cup (level)

Roasted gram dhal (pottu kadale) 2 tbsp(heaped)

Black gram dal 1 1/2 tbsp

Gram dal 1 1/2 tbsp

Oil 1 tsp

Salt 1/2 - 3/4 tsp

Red Chillies 10

Tamarind 1 small pellet
Method:
Wash and wipe dry the curry leaves picked from the stalk. Heat oil in a
pan and fry the black gram dhal, gram dal and red chillies till the black
gram dal turns light reddish in color. Add the curry leaves and saute till
the curry leabes are well roasted. Remove pan from the fire, add salt,
tamarind and roasted gram dhal. Allow the mixture to cool and grind it
in the mixie. When finely powdered, bottle it. A tablespoon of this powder
mixed with hot rice and ghee tastes delicious!
Makes 1/2 jam bottle.
