Remove the seeds and fibres from the tamarind. Dry roast till brown, urad dal, channa dal and toor dal. Fry the grated coconut in a little oil until it turns light brown. Fry red chillies in a little oil for a couple of minutes. Fry mustard in a little oil until it crackles. Grind all the fried ingredients including mustard to a fine powder along with salt and preserve.
