Chutney Podi
Ingredients:
- urad dal 200 gm
- channa dal 120 gm
- toor dal 150 gm
- coconut grated 1(whole)
- mustard 2 tsp
- asafoetida powder 1/4 tsp
- oil for frying and seasoning
- tamarind a small lemon size
- red chillies 12
- salt to taste
Method:
Remove the seeds and fibres from the tamarind. Dry roast till brown, urad dal, channa dal and toor dal. Fry the grated coconut in a little oil until it turns light brown. Fry
red chillies in a little oil for a couple of minutes. Fry mustard in a little oil until it crackles. Grind all the fried ingredients including mustard to a fine powder along with
salt and preserve.
