Green Gram And Paneer Sabji
Ingredients:

Whole green gram 1/2 cup

Paneer 150 gm

Oil to fry

Pepper 1/2 tsp

Cumin seeds 3/4 tsp

Fennel 1 tsp

Mustard 1/2 tsp

Cloves 3

Cinnamon 5cm piece

Ginger 2 cm piece

Chilli powder 1 1/2 tsp

Sugar 1 tsp

Minced onion 1 cup

Chopped tomato 1/2 cup

Salt to taste

Coconut grated 1/4 cup

Coriander leaves, chopped 2-3 tbsp
Method:
Soak green gram overnight and cook till soft but not mushy. Cut paneer
into 1 cm cubes, deep fry in hot oil, drain and keep aside. Grind all the
ingredients from pepper to chilli powder together to a smooth paste. Heat
three tbsp oil, add sugar. Do not stir when it turns dark brown, add onions.
When the onions are fried, add the ground paste and fry till the raw smell
is lost. Add tomatoes and fry well. Add cooked gram and fried paneer. Add
salt to taste. Simmer for two minutes and remove from fire. Garnish with
grated coconut and coriander leaves.
