Green Masala Rice
Ingredients:
- 1 cup basmati rice
- 2 1/4 cups water
- green peas 1/2 cup
- potatoes 2
- onio, big 1
- cumin seeds 1 tsp
- a pinch of asafoetida
- oil 4 tbsp
- salt to taste
For the green masala
- 1 small bunch of coriander leaves
- 20 mint leaves
- 3 green chillies
- 1/4 piece of ginger
- 1 cube maggi seasoning(optional)
Method:
Put oil in a pressure pan. When hot put in the cumin seeds and onions. Stir till onions turn light brown. Next add the ground green masala, salt and maggi seasoning and saute till the oil
leaves the masala. To this add the green peas and potatoes. Add the soaked rice and water and pressure cook till 3 whistles or 20 minutes.
