Dal Pakvan
Ingredients:

2 cups channa dal
-
2 tbsp ghee
-
2 pieces each of cinnamon and cloves
-
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
-
1 tsp red chilli powder
-
1 tbsp tamarind pulp
-
coriander leaves, chopped
-
Salt to taste
For Masala Paste
-
1 medium onion
-
3 green chillies
-
1/2" ginger
-
1 tomato
Method:
Soak channa dal for 3 hours and pressure cook with a little water. Melt
ghee add cinnamon and cloves. Add masala paste after 30 seconds. Saute
till ghee seperates. Add turmeric, red chilli powder and tamarind pulp.
Then add cooked dal. Mix and simmer for five minutes. Sprinkle coriander
leaves. Serve with crisp black pepper puri.
