Coffee Bars
Ingredients:

maida 1-1/2 cups

icing sugar 1/2 cup

butter 3/4 cup

instant coffee 1 tbsp

chopped cashewnuts 2 tbsp

golden syrup 2 tbsp
Method:
In a mixing bowl put in the sugar and butter along with the maida and mix
gently till it resembles fine breadcrumbs. Gently knead to form a soft
pliable dough. Press this dough into a greased baking tin. Now mix the
golden syrup, chopped cashewnuts, instant coffee and a few drops of vanilla
essence. Spread this mixture on the top of the pastry. Bake in a moderately
hot oven for 15 to 20 minutes. Cool and then cut into bars.
