Baked Apple Crisp With Custard Sauce

Sifted all purpose flour 3/4 cup

Sugar 1 cup

Cinnamon 1/4 tsp

Salt 1/8 tsp

Butter 6 tbsp

Chopped peanuts or walnuts 1/4 cup

Cloves 1/8 tsp

Thinly sliced pared tart apples 6 cups

Lemon juice 1 1/2 tsp

Milk 2 1/4 cups

Custard powder 70 gms
Method:
Preheat oven at 375° F. Lightly grease an 8x8x2" baking dish. Sift
flour with half a cup sugar, half a tsp cinnamon and the salt into a medium
bowl. Add butter and with a pastry blender form a crumbly mixture. Stir
in nuts. Combine rest of sugar and cinnamon with cloves mixing well. Toss
with lemon juice in a large bowl. Slightly toss with sugar mixture, Turn
into prepared dish. Spread flour mixture over surface, covering apple completely.
Bake 30-35 mins or until apples are tender and top nicely browned. Let
it cool for 5-10 mins. Meanwhile prepare custard with milk. Serve warm
or cold over warm apple crisp. Shake gently to release. Refrigerate until
serving. Decorate with salad greens.
