Green Gram And Paneer Sabji

Soak green gram overnight and cook till soft but not mushy. Cut paneer into 1 cm cubes, deep fry in hot oil, drain and keep aside. Grind all the ingredients from pepper to chilli powder together to a smooth paste. Heat three tbsp oil, add sugar. Do not stir when it turns dark brown, add onions. When the onions are fried, add the ground paste and fry till the raw smell is lost. Add tomatoes and fry well. Add cooked gram and fried paneer. Add salt to taste. Simmer for two minutes and remove from fire. Garnish with grated coconut and coriander leaves.
