Ginger Nuts


For Caramel Syrup:


Sieve flour with baking powder, ginger powder and spice. Rub butter in the flour and add sugar and mix. Add the warm caramel syrup to form a dough. Knead lightly, form into balls and put on a greased tin, flattening them slightly and allowing them room to spread. Bake in a moderate hot oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden in color. Leave them on a wire tray till they are cold and very crisp. Makes about 15 big biscuits.
