Capsicum Vada
Ingredients:

3 capsicums

Oil for frying
For Filling

2 cups potatoes,boiled and mashed

1/4 cup coriander leaves

1/4 cup coconut, grated

3 tablespoons lemon juice

1 teaspoon sugar

1 tbsp green chilli- ginger paste

Salt to taste
For Covering
-
1 1/4 cup gram flour
-
1/4 cup wheat flour
-
1/4tsp turmeric powder
-
1 tsp red chilli powder
-
A big pinch asafoetida
-
A big pinch soda-bi-carbonate

Salt to taste
Method:
Deseed the capsicums and then cut each one into eight pieces. Prepare filling
by mixing all ingredients. Divide into 24 portions. Press each portion
into the hollow of each capsicum piece. Prepare batter by mixing all the
ingredients for covering. Add water and thin batter of coating consistency.
Heat oil, dip each prepared capsicum piece into the batter and deep
fry capsicum vada to golden brown. Seve with ketchup or green coriander
chutney.
