Vegetable And Dal Soup



Bring 1 1/2 litre of water to a boil in a saucepan; chop fine two onions and two tomatoes and add to the boiling water along with washed dal; reduce the flame, cover the pan and simmer the ingredients for an hour and shut off the flame. Blend in liquidiser, sieve into another container, cover the container and keep aside. Melt butter in another saucepan. Chop finely the remaining onion and fry for a minute.Shred the cabbage, chop the spinach and fry for a minute; add the sieved ingredients and bring to a boil. When the ingredients have boiled for 10 minutes, chop the remaining tomatoes and stir it; add salt to taste and bring to a boil again; cook fir further few minutes, season with pepper and serve hot.
