Cook rice and allow them to cool. Dice brinjals and soak them in salted water. Slit green chillies into 2. Grind red chillies, cloves, cinnamon and ginger to a smooth paste. Cut tomatoes finely. Heat oil, add mustard, urad dal and channa dal. Then fry green chillies and small onions for a few minutes. Add brinjals, tomatoes, ground masala paste, salt, turmeric powder and little water. Cook till brinjals are tender. Add the rice and fry well.
