Take sugar in a wide-mouthed vessel and add water(till the sugar is covered), essence and the color and boil. Meanwhile soak the dal and rice together. When the sugar syrup is done to one string consistency remove from fire.Grind dal and rice to a fine paste sprinkling little water. Heat oil in a pan. Take the ground paste in jaangiri mould and press them into the hot oil. Fry till brown and add them to the sugar syrup. Remove the soaked jaangiri from the syrup when u finish the next set of fresh fried jaangiri.
