Drumstick flowers 4 cups
Gram dal 1 cup
Tur dal 1 cup
Grated coconut 2 tbsp
Green Chillies 3-4
Red Chillies 2
Asafoetida and turmeric powder a pinch each
Coriander leaves a few
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
Soak the two dals for 2-3 hrs; drain and grind to a coarse paste along
with the rest of the ingredients except the flowers without adding water.
Add the chopped flowers and mix well. Heat oil. Take a small quantity of
the mixture and flatten on the palm or a plastic sheet like vadas and deep
fry till golden brown and crisp. Serve hot with mint chutney.
